The six artists worked together over a two week residency from 27th July to the 7th August at Cork Printmakers’ Studio, Cork City. UNFOLD is about professional artists discovering – or rediscovering, printmaking as a medium full of possibility. Cork School of Music – The Journey – Joanna Kaminska – 4 – 29 January 2016
A solo exhibition by Joanna Kamniska, originally from Poland and now based in Cork. This exhibition features 45 paintings both new and previous works.
“My work is a continuous spiritual journey that has, up to now, brought me from Poland through New York to Ireland. My style is naive, authentic and this, together with my individual view of the world, influences my art. My illustrations are often daily scenes, conversations overheard or situations seen. Anything could be a starting point for an illustration: somebody’s facial expression, a title in the newspaper, a gesture or a particular song.”
